Gicle

The word giclée comes from a printing process that uses piezoelectric or thermal technology to project small ink drops at high speed onto the printing medium. Beyond the actual technology, a giclée is the zenith of the art of reproduction.

To be considered genuine, it must meet several requirements:

It must have a very high resolution, and reproduce all colours on the original as faithfully as possible. The substrate too must match the original's as much as possible and be of high quality. A giclée must be sturdy, UV-resistant, and water-resistant for maximum longevity—at least 100 years.

In short, a giclée is today the most effective way to obtain a valuable work of art at a fraction of the cost. It's also the only way to get an exceptional painting that is unavailable on the market. Each is a limited edition of around 50 to 100 copies. All are personally signed and numbered by the artist and come with a certificate of authenticity. Once the limited edition is sold out, the original electronic file is destroyed to prevent further reproductions.
